WHAT: Now in its fourth year, the annual event?combines the best of local art and fashion. The glamorous, edgy evening (guests are encouraged to dress in ?black tie alternative??think a deconstructed tux or an LBD with funky accessories) features runway shows, exhibitions, performances, and food and wine pairings. This year, ticket sales from the artsy affair benefit the new Water Conservation Garden at Salt Lake City?s Red Butte Garden.
During the event, four local fashion designers are set to premiere full collections: Beckett & Robb (a Salt Lake/Park City Bride & Groom favorite!), Sophie St. Claire, Nephi Garcia, and Heggy Gonzalez.
The evening spotlights an exhibition of 15 fine artists?titled Metamorphosis, including painting, mixed media, and photography by artists Shelly Hunyh (who you may know as the owner of Orchid Dynasty, another SLPCBG favorite!), Cody Chamberlain, Mark Crenshaw, Blake Palmer, Jon Lang, Zuzanna Audette, Chase McCleary, Jenevieve Hubbard, Susan Ferguson, Silvia Solis, Jimmi Toro, Matthew Potter, Todd Powelson, Nanette Wiser, Alexander Ferguson, and David Marshall Habben.
Eat and drink at artistically inspired tasting stations in The Art of Food & Wine lounge, presented by Southern Wine & Spirits West and eight local restaurants including Cannellas, Amore, Dojo, So Cupcake, Brio Tuscan Grill, and more.
WHERE: Red Butte Garden (300 Wakara Way, SLC). Runway shows take place on the garden pathway in the Rose and Wedding Gardens, and the fine art exhibition is on display in the Rose House Plaza. The evening concludes with a swing band performance and dancing on the amphitheater stage.
WHEN: Saturday, September 8 from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $50 for regular admission (includes admittance to the gallery exhibition, fashion shows, and a selection of food and beverages), $100 for VIP (also includes reserved front row seating, a tour backstage, and tickets to the VIP night September 6), and $35 for students (must have a valid school ID; limited to two tickets per ID). Visit ArtMeetsFashion.net to purchase tickets and learn more about the event.
