Best Schools ? Resources To Help You Find The Ideal School For ...

If you are looking for the best schools for your children, you have several resources to check out. Whether you plan to send your kids to a public, private, or charter school, you should take a look at the ratings and reviews given to local options. Find out where to learn the information you need in order to make a good decision.

You should first talk to other parents in your area and find out where they send their children. Ask them if they are happy with their choice, and if so, why? Most parents have a few things they like about their child?s school, and a few things they would change if possible. Get to know all of the details, and then ask if they would recommend their child?s school overall. You can also ask your kids to find out from their friends what the best schools are, since they have likely heard both rumors and facts from others in your city. All the information you gather will help you make a decision, so do not count anything out.

You should also check official ratings to find out the best schools. There are many magazines and websites that focus on ranking several of the best educational institutions at all grade levels. Rankings can give you a good idea of where each school stands according to the experts, but you should also find out why exactly each educational institution received its rank. Make sure the top programs and most impressive details apply to your kids, since otherwise you may end up picking the wrong option for your children. Just because a school is the top ranked for most students does not mean it is the ideal pick for your family.

Finally, you should find out for yourself why the best schools are so highly ranked. Schedule a campus tour so you can get a close look at the property. This also allows you to direct your questions to the tour guide so you can get immediate answers. For most parents, campus tours are enlightening, especially when the kids are brought along to offer their first impression and ask their own questions.

You want your kids to not only get a good education, but also be happy. Finding out about the best schools can help you achieve this goal, and these tips can help you make a decision. So start talking to friends, reading the ratings from websites and magazines, and setting up campus tours as soon as possible.

Kid's Corner uncovered for Windows Phone 8: a customizable, simplified launcher for rug rats

Kid's Corner uncovered for Windows Phone 8 a customizable, simplified launcher for rug rats

So, if you don't want your child messing up your smartphone, you can always snag a Mugtuk in hopes of scaring the crap out of them, but before you start inflicting emotional scars -- and racking up psychologist bills -- take a look at what the folks at Microsoft are cooking up for Windows Phone 8, because it seems much more sane. Known as Kid's Corner, the app is a separate launcher that parents may fully customize. Not only can you include or exclude individual apps or games, but also music and video selections. Parents can find Kid's Corner by swiping left from within the lock screen, though it'll also be remarkably easy to exit -- a child merely needs to press the power button. With this in mind, it seems that a lock screen password will be in order. According to The Verge, we can expect this feature to be available on all Windows Phone 8 handsets.

8 hurt when car crashes into crowd near LA school

LOS ANGELES (AP) ? A car plowed into a group of parents and children outside a South Los Angeles elementary school Wednesday afternoon, and eight people were hurt, six of them seriously, firefighters said.

At least some of the people injured outside Main Street Elementary were children, though it was not immediately clear how many, city fire spokesman Erik Scott said.

The crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m., just after school had let out for the day.

The school is about five miles southwest of downtown Los Angeles.

Scott said it was unclear whether the driver is among the injured, under arrest, or being sought.

Helicopter footage from NBC4 showed a child in a pink T-shirt being loaded into an ambulance and a Hello Kitty backpack lying in the street nearby. The footage showed a silver sedan on a sidewalk and a black car on the street next to it, both draped in police tape.

Two Alien Planets Found with Twin Suns Like 'Star Wars'' Tatooine

Astronomers have for the first time discovered two alien planets whirling around a pair of stars: a complete solar system with twin suns just like Luke Skywalker's fictional home world Tatooine.

Most stars like our sun are not singletons, but rather come in pairs that orbit each other. Scientists had found planets in these binary systems, so-called circumbinary planets with two suns like Tatooine in the "Star Wars" universe.

To find more circumbinary planets, astronomers analyzed data from NASA's prolific Kepler space telescope, which has detected more than 2,300 potential alien worlds since its March 2009 launch. Kepler had to date detected four systems with circumbinary planets ? Kepler-16, 34, 35 and 38.

The scientists have now announced the detection of Kepler-47, the first system seen with multiple worlds encircling a pair of stars. The star and its planets, called Kepler-47b and Kepler-47c, dwell about 5,000 light-years away, in the constellation Cygnus, the Swan. [Planets of the Tatooine-like Solar System (Gallery)]

"Kepler-47 shows us that binary stars can have close-in planetary systems, just like the ones we see in single stars," study lead author Jerome Orosz at San Diego State University told SPACE.com. "Most of the stars in the galaxy are in binary or higher-order multiple systems, so the fact that planetary systems can exist in these types of systems is important. If we were restricted to looking for planets around single stars, we would be missing most of the stars in the galaxy."

Spotting "Tatooine" solar system

The planets are much too far away to see with the naked eye. Rather, they were discovered by the drop in brightness they cause when they cross in front of, or transit, their host stars.

This dimming is tiny, only 0.08 percent for planet Kepler-47b and 0.2 percent for planet Kepler-47c. By comparison, Venus blocked about 0.1 percent of the sun's surface during its recent transit. Data from Kepler enabled researchers to deduce the relative sizes of the objects and orbits. They also relied on follow-up observations performed by telescopes at the McDonald Observatory in West Texas.

One of the stars is much like our sun, and the other is about a third its size and 175 times fainter. The inner and outer planets are respectively 3 and 4.6 times Earth's diameter ? the smaller planet is the smallest circumbinary planet seen yet. [Tatooine-Like System Found, 2 Planets, 2 Stars (Video)]

The inner world completes an orbit every 49.5 days, while the outer one takes 303.2 days, giving it the largest known orbit for any transiting exoplanet. The stars themselves whirl around each other every 7.5 days.

The scientists published their findings online Aug. 28 in the journal Science. They will also detail their results Aug. 29 at the General Assembly of the International Astronomical Union in Beijing.

Planet in the habitable zone?

Intriguingly, the outer planet lurks in the system's habitable zone, where a rocky planet like Earth is the right temperature to have liquid water on its surface.

"We've learned that circumbinary planets can be like the planets in our own solar system, but with two suns," said study co-author Joshua Carter at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics.

Although the outer planet is probably a gas giant slightly larger than Uranus and therefore not suitable for life as we know it, these findings do show that circumbinary planets can and do exist in habitable zones.

"The thing I find most exciting is the potential for habitability in a circumbinary system," said study co-author William Welsh at San Diego State University. "Kepler-47c is not likely to harbor life, but if it had large moons, those would be very interesting worlds."

Weird weather on Tatooine planets

Circumbinary planets might undergo relatively wild climate swings.

On Earth, the sun is a relatively stable source of light, with the solar insolation or energy we receive only varying by 0.1 percent or so. "As a result, we don't need to worry about what the sun is doing, at least over time-scales of years to decades," Orosz said. "For a planet around a binary system, there can be changes in the insolation of several percent on the time-scale of days to weeks. In addition, if the planet's rotation axis is tilted, then that also has an effect. Therefore the seasons are rapid and complicated."

"Also, let's say for the sake of discussion that the planet's rotation period is 24 hours, just like the Earth," he added. "Because you have two suns instead of one, you can have more than 12 hours of daylight, depending on the positions of the stars at sunrise or sunset."

In addition, since all the circumbinary planets the Kepler space telescope has discovered have orbits closely aligned with the orbits their stars have with each other, "you would see your suns eclipse each other on a regular basis," Orosz said. "In the case of Kepler-47, when the secondary star passes in front of the primary, the total light drops by 15 percent. This would happen every 7.5 days or so."

More exotic alien solar systems possible

The new discovery show that planetary systems can form and survive even in the chaotic environment around binary stars.

The researchers expect that the planets in Kepler-47 originated much farther out than their present orbits, at locations where the conditions for the formation of giant planets are more favorable. They eventually then migrated inward due to interactions with the disk of gas and dust that also encircled the stars.

"We think these planets and most other planets formed from a residual disk of debris left over from the star-formation process," Orosz said. "It was not at all obvious that this disk could survive near a newly formed binary star, given the orbital motions of the two stars. However, it now appears that apart from minor differences in the orbital spacings, planetary systems around binary stars can be similar to those around single stars."

In the future, the researchers want to look for smaller and smaller alien planets around binary stars.

"We are at the limit of what simple visual searches can do, so we need better software to help us automate the process," Orosz said. "Given more time and data, I think we can find more circumbinary planetary systems in the Kepler data."

9 Marines punished for urinating on Taliban corpses

?

By Jim Miklaszewski and Courtney Kube, NBC News

WASHINGTON - The U.S. military on Monday dealt out punishment to nine Marines for their roles in urinating on Taliban corpses, and were?expected to announce penalties against six soldiers in the Quran burning incident at Bagram Air Base that ignited deadly protests in Afghanistan.

The Marine Corps announced that two officers will be charged with creating a command climate that led to acts of bad behavior as they relate to the urinating on Taliban corpses in Afghanistan.?In addition, seven enlisted men received punishment for taking part in the episode, which was videotaped.

A statement from the Marine Corps said they received the punishment for "violations of the Uniform Code of Military Justice for their role in the desecration and filming of deceased Taliban that became public in January 2012."

As part of a plea deal, three Marines pleaded guilty and will receive a permanent mark on their records that will impact any future promotions and re-enlistments.

It was unclear what disciplinary action the four other non-commissioned officers will face in the urinating incident, and what resolution, if any was in charging the officers.

The three Marines were all members of the Third Battalion, Second Marine Regiment or in units that were attached to the "3/2" during their deployment. Their names were not released.?

One non-commissioned officer pleaded guilty to a general order by?wrongfully posing for an unofficial photograph with human casualties and urinating on the body of a deceased Taliban soldier, which conduct was prejudicial to good order and discipline.

Another non-commissioned officer pleaded guilty to?wrongfully posing for an unofficial photograph with human casualties and?wrongfully video recording the incident.?

A staff non-commissioned officer pleaded guilty to?failing to report the mistreatment of human casualties by other Marines and?making a false official statement to a Naval Criminal Investigative Service investigator about the his knowledge of the video.

The incident took place during a counter-insurgency operation near Sandala, Musa Qala District in Helmand Province, Afghanistan around July 27, 2011.?

The investigation into the Quran burning reportedly found no ill intent on the part of the soldiers so none of the six will face criminal charges. ?The administrative punishment, however, will likely result in the end of their military careers.?

Report: 5 soldiers involved in Quran burning

The investigation against one sailor was dropped when it was determined he was simply ordered to drive the truck with the material to the burn site at the base.

The burning of the Muslim holy books in February sparked weeks of protests that led to 30 Afghan deaths. U.S. officials said at the time the books were mistakenly sent along with garbage for disposal after detainees had written messages in them.

According to The Wall Street Journal, officials in Afghanistan were bracing for public demonstration over what might be viewed as lenient punishment of the troops.

Online Video Revs Set to Double! - Penny Stock Picks

http://www.homemediamagazine.com/streaming/online-video-distribution-revenue-projected-double-2017-28163
?
The burgeoning market of companies and services responsible for delivering entertainment video over the Internet is expected to nearly double over the next five years to more than $4 billion, according to new data from ABI Research.

Success of TV Everywhere and subscription streaming services such as Xfinity Streampix, HBO Go, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Prime Instant Video, iPlayer and Sky Go, among others, is predicated on a growing cottage industry of online video platforms (OVPs), managed video platforms (MVDs), content management systems (CDNs), and content delivery networks (CDNs).

These platforms? combined revenue for distributing video on behalf of media and entertainment companies (including cable & satellite distributors) globally will reach $2.1 billion this year. It is expected to grow to over $4 billion in 2017, according to Scottsdale, Ariz.-based ABI.

Among the video platforms, content delivery networks are best known in the general public, including Limelight and Akamai -- the latter leading the video delivery market, with about $475 million in revenue in 2011 spearheaded by a contract with Netflix. CDNs generally are responsible for finding optimal routes for the video and storing copies close to consumers to ensure a higher quality of delivery. Content delivery networks handle the logistics of video delivery for nearly all the online video operators.

Indeed, CDNs are considered so integral to the future of online video distribution that Netflix is creating its own CDN. It is developing a proprietary content delivery network in an effort to reduce reliance (and streaming issues) upon third-party CDN providers.

In a June 4 blog, Netflix said it would continue to deliver its data (i.e. streaming) through CDN providers Akamai, Limelight and others ?for the next few years? while it develops an in-house ?open connect? network (openconnect.netflix.com). About 5% of Netflix data already is served by Open Connect.

?The world?s other major Internet video provider, YouTube, has long had its own content delivery network,? wrote Ken Florance, VP of content delivery at Netflix. ?Given our size and growth, it now makes economic sense for Netflix to have one as well.?

Meanwhile, KIT Digital leads the market for content management systems with nearly $175 million video delivery revenues from media and entertainment companies in 2011. Brightcove is the largest OVP with $64 million in 2011 media & entertainment revenues. Synacor, which primarily hosts websites for cable operators, leads the MVP market with nearly $91 million in 2011 revenues.

Sam Rosen, director of TV & video at ABI Research, said smaller content owners and those wanting social media integration and more basis platforms relay on OVPs, while MVPs are helpful for operators that don?t have the technical expertise to deliver a video service, and want a turnkey solution. Content management systems (CMSs) are attractive to the largest operators seeking to manage all their video centrally.

?Many of these companies claim the same competencies in video delivery,? Rosen said. ?However, each offers a unique piece of the solution.?

Easing Your Home Improvement Headaches ? KeepersBlog.com

No matter what you may think, your home has a huge impact on your mood. It is even more important to feel at ease in your home, and to improve the function and flow of it, if you work from home. Knowing that the home suits your needs and ideals can make your living and working environment better. Use these tips to transform your home.

Your home is where you spend the majority of your life, and it should be comfortable so that you can enjoy the time that you spend there. If your home has flaws it can cause you to be unhappy. Comfort is important, no matter what you think. It should be attended rather than dismissed. If your office chair is contributing to back pain, for example, then you should replace it with a new, ergonomic char. If you find yourself having trouble reaching something, you can lower it to your level or get a step stool to help you reach it. If a low table is a constant source of shin bruises, try replacing it with a smaller one without sharp corners. These little changes will add up to big improvements in your life.

Increase the space that you have. There are times when you just run out of room and reorganizing can only go so far. When that happens, think of making an expansion. Minute changes in available living space can increase your spacial appreciation for the home and reduce the feeling of constriction.

If you want to increase the value of your home, you may want to have more recreational areas. Additions, such as swimming pools or tennis courts, don?t have to be expensive. A basketball court or indoor gym can be alluring as well. These areas will help your family relax after a long day.

Examine your lighting. You can change lighting easily and it can really bring a room to life. A simple and fast fix is replacing old light bulbs. You can give your home a completely new look simply by changing light fixtures.

Planting and maintaining a nice garden in your backyard can make it feel like a park. If you lack the talent or the time to plant and maintain your own garden you can still enjoy the benefits of one by hiring a lawn care provider. Some of the benefits to growing your own garden include having fresh foods and flowers.

You should think about projects that improve your home?s exterior. The appearance of your home can be drastically improved with a coat of paint, some fresh shutters, and replacing old shingles. Your home will have better curb appeal and be much more inviting for guests.

It is important to love your home, especially since you spend a majority of your time there. Fixing a home is an investment in yourself.

An Awaited Introduction to the Theory | Professional Writing Theory ...

Last Tuesday, before our class meeting ended, Dr. Jones asked everyone if they?d had the chance to ask any questions they had about professional/technical writing, rhetoric, or anything else pertaining to the material that would be covered in this course. I chose not to speak up, thinking that my question ? which was ?what, exactly, is technical writing?? ? was somewhat silly. I assumed the texts we would be reading during the upcoming week would answer the question.

Unfortunately, there seemed to be few explicit definitions of technical writing to gather from the assigned articles. A potential definition was found in ?The Rise of Technical Writing Instruction in America?. That definition proved problematic, though; when Robert J. Connors cites W. Earl Britton?s definition of technical writing, one of the three essential aspects of rhetorical situation, audience, is missing. Before I continue, I think it is important to note that Connors does not at any point endorse Britton?s definition as applicable to this day and age?s field of technical communication. The reason why this definition is still curious is because Russell Rutter, who considers technical writing the domain of rhetoric, lists ?audience? as one of the vital parts of a course on rhetoric (31). With such discrepancies between the articles in the consideration of a technical document?s audience, one might assume that the inclusion of rhetoric into a definition of technical writing is not essential. I was able to find a suitable definition at some point, though. Carolyn R. Miller?s claim that ?technical writing is the rhetoric of ?the world of work?? served as the most encompassing, and discrete, definition provided of all the articles, and it even had the word ?rhetoric? included (70).

There at least seemed to be some common threads woven amongst the articles. One of those threads was the concept of binaries. Miller provided a list of binaries common to many discussions of technical writing in her article ?What?s Practical about Technical Writing?? (67). Patricia Sullivan questioned the validity of a binary presumably existing in technical writing pedagogical history that supposedly materialized following World War I. Connors mentions many binary factions that opposed each other during the development of the field.

Another common thread was the harshness of the language characterizing the camps entangled in those binaries. Those who viewed technical writing in a utilitarian fashion, according to Miller?s analysis of Connor?s historical work, considered the pursuit of literary study a form of ?leisure? (65) and ?idle speculation? (67). The word ?genteel?, which its high-minded connotations, litters Sullivan?s article (206, 208, 218). English professors suffered the indignity of sexist remarks from their more practically minded students (Connors).

Though it took me a while to find the answer to my question from last week, I did find myself enjoying this week?s reading material, and greatly anticipate reading more critiques of the field. Rutter and Miller?s focus on the ethics of technical communication fascinated me, as ethics is a topic that?s essential to any field, particularly one that consists of so much rhetorical theory. Rutter?s implication of the failings of technical communication in the Challenger explosion really piqued my interest. Furthermore, the readings I?d done prior to the semester, some of which were taken from the textbook because I had received it in the mail the week before classes, not only gave me a fuzzy idea of what technical writing might be, but got me excited about the broadness of the field: Technical writing, which oftentimes includes instructional materials, could, surprisingly, even include arts and crafts instructions (Durack)!

(Alan Diaz)

Tropical Storm Isaac is already hitting the Florida Keys with rain and wind, and it may become an even stronger hurricane as it makes its way toward the northern Gulf Coast.

Isaac is expected to make landfall somewhere along the Gulf Coast by Tuesday or Wednesday ? the seventh anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. That storm caused disastrous flooding all along the coast. A hurricane hasn't hit the Gulf Coast since Ike in 2008.

REPUBLICAN NATIONAL CONVENTION

Party officials are trying to cram four days of convention events and festivities into three as Isaac approaches. The storm is not expected to directly hit Tampa, but those in attendance ? and especially those protesting outside ? can expect to get wet.

DAMAGE

Most of the damage down by Isaac so far has been in the Caribbean. At least seven people were killed by flooding in Haiti, including in tent cities filled with earthquake victims, and two others in the Dominican Republic. Isaac scraped Cuba, downing power lines and trees. As of early Sunday afternoon, the storm was just beginning to hit the Florida Keys and had done little damage aside from scattered power outages.

WHERE WILL IT HIT?

On Sunday afternoon, Isaac is expected to pass over the Florida Keys. From there, it will hit somewhere along the northern Gulf Coast.

Forecasters at the U.S. National Hurricane Center have warned that right now, it's extremely difficult to determine exactly where on the Gulf Coast Isaac will make a direct hit. But it is expected to gain significant strength over the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and is likely to become at least a Category 2 storm. And it is a massive system: Tropical storm conditions extend as far as 200 miles from the center, meaning even communities not in the direct path could get a lashing.

Living Alongside Wildlife: Friday Roundup Returns: Rattlesnakes in ...

Living Alongside Wildlife: Friday Roundup Returns: Rattlesnakes in Alabama, Mississippi, and...Afghanistan?

Friday Roundup Returns: Rattlesnakes in Alabama, Mississippi, and...Afghanistan?

Just Keep Going: Want to reduce your chances of being bit by a venomous snake? Don't go out of your way to catch, harass, or kill any. And if you get bit while you are at work, don't expect your employer to pay for your medical expenses. As an Alabama appellate recently stated in reference to a snakebit logger, "The snake on the roadway posed no risk - occupational or otherwise - ... so long as he (the individual in question) remained in the vehicle in which he was riding..."

A Tough Call: So many rattlesnakes are killed for no good reason. But, sometimes I at least understand where the people are coming from. An Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake, Crotalus adamanteus, was recently spotted in Hurley, Mississippi very close to a middle school, a high school, and a softball field. My suspicion is that if the snake was left alone, nobody would have ever seen it again. However, we will never know, because the snake was killed after being run over and then shot in a ditch (future potential snake killers, please see above). The newspaper reported that the rattlesnake (on the right) was five feet long. I don't think so and neither should you.?

This is unfortunate all-around. Although this species of rattlesnake once ranged through Mississippi to Louisiana, they are now very rare in both states and imperiled throughout their range.

Are Rattlesnakes Expanding Their Ranges...To Afghanistan??Last month a newspaper reported a story about a Canadian family hiking through the woods in Barrie, Ontario, when they heard an unmistakable rattling. Rattlesnakes rattle to alert others of their presence so conflict can be avoided but that doesn't make for a very good story. So, this article goes for the angle of the family dog fighting off an aggressive snake to save its family (we've heard that before). But that's not what got my attention. The article mentions that one of the family members had received training about dangerous animals before he was deployed to Afghanistan and apparently rattlesnakes were on the list. Huh? One of the things that make a rattlesnake encounter so amazing is that wild rattlesnakes are found only in North and South America. Finding a rattlesnake in Afghanistan would be like finding a panda in Alabama (or maybe an Anaconda). The article goes on to say that Afghanistan locals frequently cut the rattles off of rattlesnakes; many of these rattles were apparently shown to this Canadian dude while he was on active duty. I would love for someone to please explain to me what the heck is going on here.

Finally: I recently attended the World Congress of Herpetology in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and had the good fortune to meet and/or reconnect with several fellow bloggers, including Andrew Durso, Trailblazer, Melissa Amarello, David Steinberg, and Bree Putman (I didn't actually meet Bree but I enjoyed her presentation). Did I forget anybody? If you haven't already visited their blogs, please do so now.

Because I Am Not My Freaking Illness | On Oxnard Shores

On Wednesday, I cancelled therapy indefinitely. Left a message for my therapist, told him I didn?t want to do the hypnotherapy thing to re-experience trauma and whatever to make all the feelings go away and thereby unblock my creativity. But not in so many words. Just said, I?m not open to it, and I?m taking a break, will call back if I feel like talking, etc. However, I have recently realized that I don?t want to talk anymore but start doing and get on with my life. I was reading that women go into menopause in their 40s-50s. I want to have a sex life/partner before I dry up. I want more in life, so screw it, and screw the naysayers, the doubters.

I?m going to try. I want to beat this inertia. I think I have more to give. I want to live my life, my dream. Not retire in Oxnard all alone with a depressed outlook and wait until my parents die to be free, and end up killing myself because I find out I have no one, nothing, at all. I want to finish my book, try to get it published, lose weight, and not act like a mental patient. And someday fall in love again for real and have a life partner, companion, and all those good things I deserve. Speak my mind. Own my voice. Not let anyone but me define me. And try to always speak and write in such a way that I can be proud of myself. Maybe I am being unrealistic, but fuck it. Having a big dream is better than not having one at all.

I think I am a smarter person than the way I have expressed myself at times in my blog and other writings (i.e., erotica). Maybe I am setting myself up for failure or disappointment. Maybe I am really really a fucked up mentally ill human being, and I am just deluding myself. But I don?t think I?m stupid. I was smart enough to get a Bachelor?s in English and a Master?s in Creative Writing. I don?t want to be my illness. I want to be more than a maybe she could have been. I just can?t imagine my life going on like this. I don?t want to be afraid anymore. Should I give up and be my illness, or should I try, just try, to be more than this sad and lonely person who hardly leaves the house? Whatever. I?m finishing the novel, damn it. I?m going to be a bipolar who makes it. Or at least, I?m going to try.

Duggars Pregnant Again? 'It's Fun Trying,' Says Jim Bob

The Duggar family want to add another little one to this picture

Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar can?t seem to keep their hands to themselves! While the celebrity couple can?t exactly confirm that Michelle is pregnant with baby no. 20, the couple says that it?s not for lack of trying.

The celebrity Duggar family of 19 Kids and Counting might have to rename their show 20 Kids and Counting (or maybe they?re just trying to out-do rivals at United Bates of America) sometime soon. The whole family appeared Friday on the Today show, and Michelle admitted to Savannah Guthrie that the family are hoping for another baby soon. Though she back-tracked and said she wasn?t confirming any baby news just yet, she reiterated that she and Jim Bob are indeed trying.

?Not that I know of. We would love to, but we don?t today,? Michelle told Guthrie when asked if they had any big news to share. Still, the Duggars stressed that they never said they?d be stopping at 19 kids.

?We definitely are [trying for more kids]. We would love more if the Lord saw fit to give us more,? she said, continuing, ?So, we will wait and see. But today isn?t one of those days where we get to make that kind of announcement. I think our big announcement is that our new season is starting up,? she says.

Jim Bob added, with a laugh, ?It is fun trying though,? prompting Guthrie to quip ?Jim Bob, you sly dog, you,? and leaving me to wonder what I was doing watching Today without my favorite anchor.

But that?s another story.

Do you think that the Duggars should keep trying for kids or is 19 enough?
